The official WeChat account of the mainland court says one of them, Zhang Ningying, was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of 800,000 yuan ($112,700) by the Wenzhou People's Intermediate Court for crimes of "casino establishment" and "illegal business operations." The statement said she had accepted the ruling and would not appeal.

She was already one of 35 defendants who pleaded guilty to involvement in gambling-related crimes during the mainland process.

The cases, involving a "criminal group" allegedly led by Alvin Chau Check Wa, founder of Suncity Group, merged into a process with a hearing that began in August. The allegations involved encouraging "cross-border gambling" activities for people on the mainland through the Philippines and Macau.

Mr. Zhang did not appear at the hearing of the Macau court. The key defendant of the Macau court is Mr. Chow.

A total of 21 defendants face charges of illegal gaming, criminal organization, fraud and money laundering in the Macau lawsuit.

Macau prosecutors described Mr Cheng, a Hong Kong ID holder, as the person in charge of Sun City Group's "capital division" and a subordinate to Philip Wong Pak Ling, a former chief financial officer of Sun City Group. Macau proceedings are ongoing.

Zhang and another defendant, Feng Hao, were instructed by Mr Chow about "setting up a company on the continent," where they receive "gambling capital and gambling debt of trans-gambling groups" and help them operate on the mainland, according to a statement from the Wenzhou court on Friday.
